Mike Huntchison is one of the top grapler in south east asia region. Competing under modified grappling rules, the event allowed several advanced submissions including heel hooks, spine locks, and neck cranks. Hutch won gold in the under 88 Kilo division defeating Synergy Jiu Jitsu instructor, and 3x tournament winner Max Metino in the finals with an impressive knee bar submission. Stepping into the open weight division Hutch, competing as a BJJ white belt took home a bronze medal, eventually losing to BJJ Purple belt Fransino Tirta in the Semi Finals by guillotine choke.

One of our gym fighter fought him in final no gi submission grapling before last year(2008) which the round end out with Mike submited our gym fighter via rare naked choke. but it was a nice match though. I am sure we will see more of his action in 2009!

This match took place in Indonesia.

salaam,
its 2009 already and how fast time flies eh.. i do think that 2008 come & go way too quickly.

there's a 'to do' list that i list down weeks ago that i carried around. the things was, theres a lot of things to do, work lists, personal stuff and everything in between.. but i'm just too lazy to do any of it.

blamed it on the on-off long public holiday n long weekend, blamed it on the oh-s0-complicated relationship situation, and blame it on any other reason.. i just think at this point, im just simply a lazy soul. lazy to move on and look for what lays for me in 2009.

frankly speaking, im also very2 lazy to kick start with work and loads from office. the working vibes is not there yet. maybe i should focus on something else. something on myself..then slowly transfer the vibes &momentum to start the 'work force'

last nite, i was staying awake till late doing nothing.. ( i can't sleep) and i was thinking of what to do this weekend. should i go back to my parent's house - just to be pampered, sleep, go online in my confort zone, or.. should i do something, here..?

i decided that the bast way to kick start 2009 is to clean up my old cluster. my old junks that i keep for the last decade. maybe by getting rid of all those old crappy memories, recycle/donate whatever that is still good for a better course is a wise idea. some more, i can create some space for a new junk.. :)

the thing is.,. im lazy to start cleaning the cluster. alone some more.. sorang2 nih, mmg tidak ada semangat and after 15 min, i will postpone it to some other time pulak..sseesshh.

i have quite numbers of books. i have 1 book shelves yg dah super packed. i need to re-organize my book shelf. i need to give aways stuff i no longer wear. (*tak muat case), oh and also, my DVD's shelves. no more space to stack my DVD's.

i have to do someting. start somewhere. kalau berja resolve issue cluster @ home, maybe i can start/continue working on other stuff too, office workloads and photography stuff. i need to start somewhere. soon. or else i wont start at all.

okay,
malam nih start laundry & start the major spring clean. i will call this project - removing my dacade's cluster. :D

so mama & abah,
i wont go back to raub this weekend, kalau nak dtg KL and help m spring clean, adalah di alu-alukan. :) muehehe.

Happy New Year's, everyone!

Now, with 2009 here, you might not have a Martial Artist's New Year's Resolution ready- I have several ready for you!

(Check The Ones That Fit You and Your Needs)

I (your name here), resolve to...
__Train Harder
__Spar More Often
__Get My Next Belt
__Be Less Afraid of Contact/Learn To Take a Hit
__Quit Ninjutsu
__Quit Kiddie Karate/Tae Kwon Do
__Quit Wing Chun
__Quit Not-So-Reality-Based RBSD
__Take Up a Full-Contact Martial Art That Encourages Sparring With Resistance
__Understand That I am Not a Shaolin Monk/Samurai/Ninja
__Stop Trying To Learn a Martial Art from YouTube/Books
__Learn To Grapple (With a Gi/Without a Gi)
__Stop Pulling Guard and Learn How to Throw
__Quit Lying About My Abilities
__Get in Shape
__Be Less of a Jerk to My Sparring Partners
__Quit Doing Drugs
__Start Doing Drugs
__Be More Open-Minded
__Stop Nutriding (Name of Fighter/Martial Art)
__Make Martial Arts an Outlet for My Frustrations, Not a Source

My New Year's Resolution?
Make fewer posts and say fewer things that may offend people.
Yeah, I'm kind of @#$@'d on that one.

Happy New Year's, and here's to hoping that you keep your resolutions! (And to hoping that the massive hangover you likely have right now will go away soon.)
-Y

Every year I try to train on New Year's Day to get the year started off right. We had a training this morning from 9-12 and even though most people went to bed late last night, they still came out to train this morning.

"The Naihanchi 500" was kind of a joke. We really didn't do Naihanchi 500 times, but it did get some people wondering or at least curious!

It was a good training. We started out with some Tai Chi to get the chi flowing and the brains centered for karate practice. Then we did lots of basic cross-deck techniques focusing on hip twisting koshi to get nice and loosened up.

Naihanchi was next, followed by some stick self defense and sparring, followed by regular kata practice and concluding with watching a video of Shinzato Sensei discussing Kata and Calligraphy.

All in all, a great start to the new year!
